Michelle Campos joined the faculty in the fall of 2006 as
Assistant Professor of Modern Middle Eastern History. She earned her PhD in
2003 from Stanford
University, after which she taught in the Department of Near Eastern Studies
at Cornell University. Her areas of interest include the late Ottoman Empire,
the social history of historical Palestine, religious minorities, urban history
and social networks. She is completing a manuscript on the political culture
of the 1908 revolution in late Ottoman Palestine.
